Introducing...The Queen of Sparkles

Some brands you carry because they’re cute. Others, because they mean something. When you’re lucky, you find brands that are both cute and meaningful.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: I want Frill to be an extension of me. This addition to the shop is a new category… an extension of my closet. Frill fam, The Queen is here!
We’re officially welcoming Queen of Sparkles to our lineup. 👑

I want to start by saying this: I’m not a clothing store. I was hesitant to pull the trigger on Queen of Sparkles because I didn’t want to blur those lines. I am still very much a gift and specialty shop, but that’s exactly why QOS fits so well — it’s a specialty item.

There are so many things that make it special — the quality, the authenticity, the story, and the heart of the brand… none of which can be duplicated. There are plenty of sparkle brands out there — you can find them all around you — but I made a conscious decision to carry the original: The Queen.

Queen of Sparkles was founded by Louisiana’s own, Jaime Glas Odom. I pulled this excerpt directly from their website because I didn’t want to miss any details:

"Her passion for anything-but-boring clothes started with technicolor dance costumes and playing dress-up. In her 20s, she scoured vintage racks for sequined pieces in every color of the rainbow. As she put together outfits for SEC football games, themed parties, and specialty occasions, Jaime accumulated a closet full of novelty pieces.

Before Jaime turned her sparkly, colorful closet into a brand, she started her career in engineering and patented her design for flame-resistant women’s work jumpsuits.

Jaime graduated from LSU and began her career as a petroleum engineer. She struggled to find flame-resistant jumpsuits that fit her and other female engineers. She set out to create a jumpsuit that focused on fit and more fashionable cuts, ultimately leading her to create her first business—HauteWork! She sold the brand to National Safety Apparel in 2019.”

Talk about goals. What an incredible story.

Jaime launched Queen of Sparkles in 2021 and, as they say, the rest is history. She didn’t just start a brand — she started a movement. Queen of Sparkles took the South by storm, and it wasn’t long before sparkles were everywhere.

But even as other sparkle brands entered the scene, I always had a soft spot for Queen of Sparkles — the original sparkle brand. I knew Jaime’s story and wanted to honor her hard work and creativity by supporting her brand as a consumer. Fast forward a few years and now here I am… a retail partner with The Queen herself!

I love the story behind Queen of Sparkles, and I admire Jaime so much — not just because she built a sparkly empire, but because of how she did it. Her designs and her brand are true to her. They’re original. They’re fun. They’re authentic. And that’s something I hope you feel at Frill, too.

The brands I carry are consistent with what I’d actually buy for myself — and Queen of Sparkles is one of them. That matters to me. I hope that when you walk through the doors at Frill, you see me — my style, my taste, and what I genuinely love.

Every Queen of Sparkles design is a celebration of life — just like we aim for at Frill when we say we want to make ordinary days extraordinary. ✨

Now listen, I know Queen of Sparkles won’t be for everyone — and that’s okay! Even if wearing a t-shirt covered in rhinestones to a ballgame (or to Walmart on a random Tuesday) isn’t your thing, I hope you’ll still appreciate the story behind this brand and the woman who built it.

I can’t wait for you to see the new designs in store.
Football season is just the beginning.

xx – Molly
